  • What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo performed specifically on the eyebrows. It's a procedure that helps to fill in thin eyebrows, enhance the natural shape of the brows, reshape the brows, or darken the brows. What makes it truly unique is the hand tool that’s used; the microblade. The tool is made up of 12 -21 micro needles and has a diameter between 0.15 mm - 0.25 mm. Artists use this tool to etch hair-like strokes into the skin and deposit pigment to create an illusion of hair. This natural looking technique creates fine hair strokes that last 1 to 3 years depending on lifestyle and proper care.
  • What is power shading?
Powder brows, also known as ombre brows, are a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo technique that creates a soft, powdered look. This technique uses a cosmetic tattoo machine to create small dots of pigment throughout the brow area, gradually building up the color and shape of the brows. The end result is a natural-looking, defined brow that can last up to 2-3 years with proper care. Powder brows are a great option for those with sparse or thinning brows, mature skin, or for anyone who wants a low-maintenance, long-lasting solution for their eyebrow needs. At The Blade Mama, we use only the highest-quality pigments and tools to ensure beautiful, natural-looking results for our clients.
  • What is Microblaing with shading?
Microblading hair strokes mixed with power shading is a technique used in eyebrow microblading. It involves creating hair-like strokes with a microblading tool, and then using a shading technique to add depth and dimension to the brows. This combination of techniques creates a natural-looking, full eyebrow that lasts for up to two years. The Blade Mama specializes in this technique, and our trained technicians use only high-quality pigments and tools to ensure the best results for our clients.
  • Step 1 - Consult
Once you book an appointment with me, we will start with a consultation where we will discuss your lifestyle, your brow goals, and how you currently color your eyebrows. Additionally, we will talk about whether you prefer a more natural look or something bolder. You can even show me pictures of eyebrows that you like!
  • Step 2- Mapping the Brows
The mapping process can take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. During this time, we will determine the best shape for you by using different tools and string to draw out the perfect shape and make them symmetrical. This process includes sitting up, laying down, and alternating between the two. Once we find the ideal shape and the client approves them, we will then pre-draw some strokes before numbing. We want to make sure that we take our time and create the perfect shape for you, so please plan accordingly.
  • Step 3- Numbing the brow area
Next we will apply a topical numbing cream to the brows and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. We want to make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the procedure. During this time you can have a snack, walk around, stretch before the next part of the process.
  • Step 4- Begin Microblading
Once the numbing has set in we will now start the microblading process.
  • Step 5- The Reveal
After the service is complete we'll finally reveal your new eyebrows! We will also take some pictures of course for before & afters.
